This article does not prevent any person from making excavations necessary for a preservation of life or property when an urgent necessity arises while the Town offices are closed. A person making an emergency use or encroachment on a public street shall apply for a permit related to the urgent necessity within one calendar day after the Town offices are open. All emergency work taking place within the pavement section requiring lane restrictions or closures shall meet the requirements of the MUTCD. (13-02, Amended, 04/18/2013)
